Charles Leon Wortman. longtime Wewoka resident, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at his residence in Wewoka at the age of 77.
Mr. Wortman was born September 21, 1933 in Stuart, Oklahoma to Charles Lee and Melanie (White) Wortman.
He enlisted in the United State Army on April 30, 1953 and served his country during the Korean War. He attained the rank of Corporal and received an honorable discharge on April 29, 1955.
Charles worked as a miner and later was a farmer for many years. He enjoyed family outings and boating at the lake, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his three sons, Charles Wortman of Vernon, AZ, Ronald Wortman of Amarillo, TX and Kenneth Wortman of Payson AZ; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
