Odra Ray Catlett

Graveside Services for Longtime Wewoka resident Odra Ray Catlett,
age 90 years are scheduled for 10:00 AM. Friday February 27,2009
at Tate Mountain Cemetery with Military honors. He passed away
Wednesday, February 25, 2009.

Born September 18, 1918 in Boonville, Arkansas , Logan, County, to
W.A. and Ancy Bell Catlett, he graduated from Wewoka High School,
where he played football, he was a very good player. There was a saying at the ballgames, if Catlett gets the ball we will get a touchdown. His last year in school Wewoka was State Champions.

Odra joined the military shortly after he graduated August 31, 1939, and served six years and three months, been discharged Nov. 25, 1945. He then worked for the US government as a airplane mechanic at McClellan Air Force base until he retired in 1982. He was a resident of Wewoka for the past six years.

Odra had no children of his own, but has step-children of his deceased wife Mary who preceded him in death 2002. He is also preceded in death by his parents, WA. and Ancy Bell Catlett, brother James Edward Catlett, two sisters Bonnie Beck and Dorothy Carter.

Survivors include his twin sister Audra Creech of Wewoka, and Ruth
Meiske of Taylor, TX, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other
relatives and friends.
