Funeral Services for Nora Lee Akin were held at 10:00 AM Monday, December 8, 2008 Hudson-Phillips Funeral Chapel with Reverend Freeman Whitlock officiating. Interment was at Tate Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Hudson Phillips Funeral Home.

Nora was born February 11, 1920 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Charles Alton Byerly and Bessie Elizabeth (MacArthur) Byerly.

Nora and Bob Akin were married November 30, 1935 in Holdenville, OK, He preceded her in death on May 3, 1988. She is also preceded by
a brother, Duncan Byerly, and grandson Larry Akin.
Survivors include Nora's sons, Robert Akin, Jr. and wife Pat, of Holdenville and Charles Akin and wife, Deborah, of Spaulding, OK. She leaves her grandchildren: Tony Akin of Houston, TX; Cathy Akin of Stillwater;
Charlotte Magil of Chicago, IL; Robert Akin of Spaulding; Chris Akin of
Marion, IN; Keri Brines of Savannah, OK; and Jennifer Arthur of Norman, OK; thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Alton Byerly, Terry Byerly, Keith Byerly, Claud Byerly,
Bruce Byerly, and Kenny Byerly.
