Wewoka resident Rev. Leroy Alexander went home to meet his Lord
and Savior Thursday, June 25th, 2009 at his resident at the age of 74
years.
Wake Services are scheduled for 6:00 PM Saturday, June 27,2009
at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel.
Wake Services are scheduled for 7:00 PM Sunday, June 28, 2009
at Middle Creek #2 Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, June 29, 2009
at Middle Creek #2 Baptist Church with Bro. Freddie Lowe and
Rev. George Harjochee officiating and burial at Hawkins Cemetery.
The body will be taken to the Church at 4:00 PM Sunday June 28,2009.
Born June 17, 1935 to Willie and Jane Alexander.
He was raised in Lula, and graduated from Lula High School. After
High School he worked as a Truck Driver. He was a bass singer
in a few gospel quartets in the Wewoka area. On June 4, 1989 he
was ordained as a Baptist Minister.
Leroy married Katherine Jo Hawkins March, 2, 1967 in Midwest
City, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on November 22, 2008.
Preceding Leroy in death are his wife, parents Willie and Jane Alexander,
brother Billy Gene Alexander, sisters, Lorene Jackson, Lucille Byington,
and Sarah Walker.
Survivors include one brother Hubert Alexander, two sisters, Pauline
Walker and Virginia Bolen, three sons Phillip Alexander, Ledon Alexander,
Leroy Alexander Jr., three daughters LaDoria Williams, Claudine Malone,
and Elizabeth Beck, fifteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren
numerous nieces , nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Wolfe, Tony Walker, Gilbert Walker,
Steve Walker, Squegee Yargee , and Brian Alexander.
Honorary Pallbearers: Son-in-laws Harold Williams, Allen Beck, Roy
Yargee, and Troy Yargee.
