Funeral services for Juanita Vera Bolinger, 90, of Atwood, Oklahoma are to be held at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at the Free Will Baptist Church in Calvin with Brothers Jim Lawrence and Lloyd Cross officiating. Pallbearers are Carl Collard, Kenneth Vandeveer, Don Sims, Larry Dotson, Wayne Reed, Gene Pickett and Buddy Britt. Honorary bearers are Bill Gillian, Greg Gillian, Buddy Thompson, Glen Lively and Steve Morris. Juanita will be buried at Blue Ridge Cemetery, near Calvin, under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home of Holdenville.
Juanita Vera Young Bolinger was born January 25, 1919, south of Calvin. She passed away Sunday, December 20, 2009 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Juanita was the daughter of Andrew Clayton and Rosie Lee (DeShazo) Young. She was a lifelong resident of Hughes County and a member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Calvin. Juanita attended school at Stoney Point in Gerty. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Gordon Palmer, William “Bill” Hanks, and Robert Bolinger. Juanita enjoyed fishing, reading, spending time with family and playing “Farkle”.
Survivors are her children: Victor Paul Palmer and wife, Jackie, of Kingston, Oklahoma; Linda Foster and husband, Frank, of Calvin; Winston Hanks of Atwood; Alyene Hanks of San Antonio, Texas; Jolene (Pearce) Esio and husband David of Ada; and one sister, Wanda Parks of Atwood. Juanita leaves numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Juanita’s parents, two sons, Wayne Palmer and Robert Bolinger, Jr; one son-in-law, Jim Pearce; a sister, Velva Allred; and two brothers, AC and Oscar Young, two half-sisters, Gertrude Nose and Lillie Sesson, also preceded her in death.
