Funeral services for Chris Collins, 25, of Holdenville are to be held at 10:30 am Thursday, December 31, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Holdenville with Reverend Jerry Orsburn and Reverend Bill Chesser officiating. Chris will be laid to rest at Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Jeff Collins, Christopher Scott Collins, James Collins, Jr., Christopher Brooking, Joe Stafford and Chris Remis. Honorary bearers are Kenneth Orsburn, Jr., James Pembrook, C.J. Brooking, and Payton Stuart.
Christopher Lynn Collins was born June 8, 1984 in Warren, Arkansas to James Lynn Collins and Tammie Denise (Chadwick) Orsburn. He passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2009 in Holdenville. Chris was a 2003 graduate of Holdenville High School and worked for Tyson Foods, Incorporated. He married Breanna Brooking on June 27, 2009 in Holdenville and the couple made their home in Holdenville. Chris was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. He enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, and “noodling”. Chris was a very loving and caring young man, he loved to help people and was a hard worker.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Pastor James W. Collins and Cecil Alfred Chadwick; and grandmother, Shirley Ann Norten.
Survivors are Chris’ wife, Breanna, of the home; father, James L. Collins and his wife, LeAnne, of Star City, Arkansas; mother, Tammie Orsburn and husband, Jimmy L., of Holdenville; grandmother, Margaret Collins of Star City, Arkansas; brothers: Jeffery Collins and wife, Lindsey, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; James Collins, Jr. of Star City, Arkansas; Christopher Scott Williams and wife, Jessica, of Star City, Arkansas; sisters: Brandy Ann Collins of Sheridan, Arkansas and Sarah Tibbetts of Star City, Arkansas; mother and father-in-law, Mark and Sharon Brooking, of Holdenville; brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Brandi Brooking of Holdenville; four nieces and nephews, Christopher Brooking, Payton Levi Stuart, Cayley Capri Collins and Dorian August Rhyver Hunter. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and many, many friends.
