Funeral services for Larry Dale Bowen of Ada, OK will be 2:00 pm Monday, May 10, 2010 at Trinity Baptist Church in Ada, OK. Interment will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery near Konawa, OK. Officiating will be Rev. Rusty Fuller and assisting will be Rev. David Gray and Mr. Don Sayre. Family to welcome friends for visitation at Smith-Phillips Funeral Home from 1:00pm to 2:30 pm Sunday, May, 9, 2010.

Mr. Bowen died Friday, May 7, 2010 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 67. He was born June 3, 1942 in Big Lake, TX to Ebb Bowen and Hazel Muncrief Bowen. He married Lynda Morris on June 11, 1965 at the First Baptist Church in Comanche, OK.

Mr. Bowen attended Comanche High School while growing up. He worked as a caretaker for the Pauls Valley State School in Pauls Valley, OK for many years retiring in 2001. He moved to Ada from Wynnewood, OK in 2006. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Ada, he had been a deacon at the Eastern Gate Baptist Church in Wynnewood for many years, he loved music, hunting, fishing, golfing, and playing the guitar.

Mr. Bowen is survived by his wife, Lynda Bowen of the home; one son, Lance Bowen and his wife Mylinda of Ada, OK; one daughter, Tami Russell and her husband Brian of Ada, OK; three brothers; Wendell Bowen of Wynnewood, OK, Don Bowen of Comanche, OK, and David Bowen of Tyler, TX; six sisters, Maxie Chaney and Barbara Sue McMurtry both of Comanche, OK, JoAnn Bowden of Duncan, OK, Becky Colvin of Fort Worth, TX, Helen Benigni of Granbury, TX, and Gayla Wadsworth of Madill, OK; and two grandchildren, Koby Bowen and Taylor Russell both of Ada, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ebb and Hazel Bowen and one brother, Kenneth Bowen.

Pallbearers: Dee Bowen, Billy Bowen, Allen Bowen, Cecil Henderson, Don Sayre, and William Fuentes.

Honorary Pallbearers: Members of the fellowship class.
