Joel Ray Center was born August 23, 1961 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Celeca Jo (Hayes) Center. She preceded him in death on October 21, 1998. Joel is survived by his aunts and uncles: Gwen and James Griffith, Deana and Ronnie Black, and Martha and Oscar Black, all of Allen; his cousins: Frank Griffith, Regina Woodward, Theron Griffith, Ron Black, Frayne Black, Brad Black, and Sheryl Black. Joel leaves numerous friends from Pioneer Nursing Home of Wetumka where he was a resident for seventeen years.

Viewing will be held at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, 301 East Main, in Holdenville on Saturday, February 7, 2009 from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Atwood Cemetery Atwood Cemetery with Reverend Buddy Drake officiating. Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
