Evening prayer services for Tulsa resident, John Alexander, Sr., 62, are to be held at 6:00pm, Friday, October 17, 2008 at Hudson-Phillips Chapel. The procession to the Middle Creek #1 Baptist Church in Lamar will leave the funeral home at 10:00 am, Saturday morning for funeral services at 2:00 pm that afternoon. Reverend Joe Bruner and Reverend Robert Berryhill will be officiants. Pallbearers are Raymond Watson, Katcv Larney, Mark Jimboy, James Jimboy, Jalin Keawphalouk, Micco Wesley, and Andreis Alexander. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Rick Harjo, Pete Johnson, Phillip Bear, Joe Bruner, Sr., Marvin Bear, Eddy Alexander, Reed George, Russell Larney, James Bear and Dennis Bear. Mr. Alexander will be laid to rest at Carson Cemetery, near Dustin, under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home of Holdenville. John passed away in Tulsa on Wednesday, October 15, 2008.

John Alexander, Sr. was born February 5, 1946 in Lamar, Oklahoma to Hattie (Bruner) and George Alexander. He graduated high school at South Wichita and attended Wichita Vo-Tech. John married Vickie John in 1966; she preceded his death. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and worked in Wichita for Boeing as a machinist. John was a member of Middle Creek #1 Baptist Church in Lamar and enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing games and watching Army movies with his family.

Surviving are his sons, John Alexander, Jr. of Sand Springs and Brian Alexander of Tulsa; one grandson, Cody Gage White of Sand Springs and six sisters and their families: Abbie Larney of Holdenville; Martha Jimboy of Lexington; Esther Pickup of Chouteau; Margaret Alexander of Lawrence, Kansas; Emma Perry of Lawrence, Kansas; and Clara Mae Keawphalouck of Seminole. John leaves numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends that will miss him.
