Funeral services for Wewoka resident Jon Bear will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 2:00 PM. at the Mekusukey Mission Gym in Seminole.
Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
A wake service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 7:00 PM at the Mekusukey Mission Community Center. Services are under the direction
of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Mr. Bear passed away Friday, July 3, 009 at Integris Seminole Medical Center at the age of 47.
He was born April 21, 1962 in Claremore, OK to Ashley Bear and Mary
Jo Leader. He attended school in Okemah and Holdenville. Jon married Jessie Brown in 1985 and she survives him of the home.
Jon worked in Maintenance at Seminole Nation and served in the National
Guard for sixteen years and number of years with Seminole Nation Color
Guards.
He is also survived by his father, Ashley Bear of Okemah; two daughters, Alicia Yahola and Jennifer Bear of Holdenville ; two sons, Keith Bear and Jonathan Bear of Wewoka; one granddaughter, Kasey Raylynn Yahola
of Wewoka; Grandmother Liza Leader four brothers, Timothy Bear of Weleetka, Daniel Bear of Henryetta, Ashley Joe Bear of Muskogee and Patrick Bear of Okmulgee; one sister, Lisa Hardy of Sarasota, FL; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Jon was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jo Leader and grandfather, Barney James Leader, Jr.
Pall bearers will be New Tulsa Ceremonial Ground Members.
Honorary Bearers will be Daniel Bear, Timothy Bear, Patrick Bear,
and Joe Bear.
