Obituary for Eugene Douglas Lowe

Eugene Douglas Lowe passed away on May 14, 2018 in Oklahoma City. He was born on January 5, 1938 in Calvin, Oklahoma to Joe Lowe Sr. and Hepsey (Harjo) Lowe. He grew up in Spaulding and attended school at Haskell Institute where he graduated. He later attended Seminole Junior College. He retired after 35 years of service at Tinker Air Force Base as a supply clerk. He married Emma “Nancy” Fixico in 1965 in Ada. He enjoyed spending time watching sports on TV and working in his yard. He was devoted to helping at Wewoka Indian Methodist Church, his family and loved his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by parents, sister Margaret Marshall, twin infant siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Emma “Nancy” Lowe of the home, children Michael Gene Lowe of Holdenville, Lona Towns and husband Durwin of Tulsa, grandchildren Randall Lowe, Taylor Lowe and Kylah Lowe, great-grandchildren Boyea, Braxton, Lyndi, and Cheyne, brother Joe Lowe Jr and wife Louise of Okmulgee, sisters Elsiephine Elliott of Oklahoma City, Matilda King of Holdenville, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Wake service is scheduled for 7:00pm on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Wewoka Indian Methodist Church.

Funeral service is scheduled for 1:00pm on Friday, May 18, 2018 at the Wewoka Indian Methodist Church in Wewoka. Rev. Dave Long Jr. will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Kevin King, Justin Franks, Ryan Smith, Ted Martin, JB Smith, Phillip Marshall. Honorary bearers will be Robert King, Joe Lowe Jr., James Smith, Ed Screedowl, and the New Tulsa Warriors. Interment will follow at the church cemetery in Yeager. Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville.
