Obituary for Linda Jean Watts

Linda Jean (Carter) Watts, 69 of Wewoka passed away on March 17, 2018 in Wewoka, Oklahoma. She was born on February 7, 1949 in Texoma, Oklahoma to George T. Carter and Dorothy Jean (Catlett) Carter. She married Carlton R. Watts on June 30, 1973 at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City. She traveled with Carl throughout his military career to Rapid City, SD and Kaiserslautern, Germany ending up back at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City. When Carl retired from the Air Force, they moved to Texas. There Linda worked for the Nation Processing Service Center, IT Department, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). She retired in 2009.

Linda is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Carter.

Survivors include her father, George Carter of Wewoka, husband Carlton Watts of the home, children Charles A. Hampton and wife Claudia, Paul G. Hampton and wife Lisa, grandchildren Paul English, Jesse Mercer, Michael Hampton, Tara Davis, Jannet Gonzalez, Kenia Gonzalez, Carlos Hampton, Jonnie Arel, Crystal Pecket, and Nick Reil, 11 great-grandchildren, siblings George M. Carter and Robert W. Carter and wife Donna Kay, aunt Ruth Meiske as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at the Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.

Funeral service is scheduled for 2:00PM on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the Barnard Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Foos officiating. Pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons. Interment will follow at the Holdenville Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Online condolences to the family can be made at
