Obituary for Mary Belle Wilkerson

Mary Belle (Knearl) Wilkerson, departed this life Tuesday, October 24th, 2017 at her home in Wewoka, OK at the age of 83 years. She was born February 12, 1934 in Ponca City, OK to the late Clarence Knearl and Adeline Albers Knearl.

Mary Belle was a graduate of Ponca City high school in 1952 and Northern Oklahoma Jr. College, Tonkawa, OK l receiving an associates degree and attended Central State University. On August 31, 1957 she married Bennie Wilkerson in Ponca City, OK, after moving to Wewoka in 1960 she worked nineteen years as head bookkeeper for Security State Bank, Wewoka and the church secretary for the Wewoka First United Methodist Church.

Mrs Wilkerson was a member of First United Methodist Church Wewoka for 57 years. Her hobbies were crafts, gardening, watching football, going out to eat, being the Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, and helping decorate floats for different parades in Wewoka. She enjoyed making ceramics.

Preceding Mary Belle in death are her parents and husband Bennie.

Those left to cherish her memories are two daughters Paula Wilkerson ,of Wewoka, OK and Pamela Hensley and husband Tommy of Wewoka, OK; one son Bruce Wilkerson and wife Sheila of Edmond, OK: a step grandson Ryan Billingsley and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside service will be 11:00 AM Friday, October 27, 2017 at Oakwood Cemetery with Pastor Marie Faubion officiating.

Honorary Pall bearers will be Floyd Snyder, Phillip Myers, Keith Claybrook, Larry Sawyer, Greg Rucker, Keith Koetter, Ronald Koetter, Mark Howell and Jeff Rucker.
