Obituary for Milford Edmond Smith

Ed Smith went home to be with his loved one on June 4th, 2018 at 9:58 PM, surrounded by the people who meant the most to him " His Family". He was a family man and worked and raised his children on a dairy farm, drove the New Lima school bus for fifteen years as well as being a hand in the oilfield. He was well loved by the Community as he was a regular at the local coffee shop where he made everyone laugh. He was born December 21, 1936 in Wewoka, OK to the late Jess B. Smith, and Ruth Pearce Smith. On April 27, 1956 he married Ester Davis in Ada, OK and to this union three children were born.


Ed is survived by his wife Ester Smith of 62 years , son Bart Smith and daughter Debra Hendrix; one brother Dennis Smith, one sister Essie Barnhart; grandchildren Mason Smith, Jennifer Hale, Leslie Shed , Amie Orr, Bret, and Greg Smith; great-grandchildren Gavin Hale, Autumn and Weston Shed, Dalton and Austin Orr, Molly, Aubrey, and Sullivan Smith, Layla and Atticus Smith.

Ed is preceded in death by one son Johnny Smith, and his parents Jess and Ruth Smith, two sisters Naomi Smith and Jessi Hood, one brother Jimmy Dale Smith.

Honorary pall bearers will be Glenn Cook, John Trimble, Tony Curtis, and Jerry Taylor.

Pall bearers will be Joby Barnhart, Brad Smith, Terry Smith, Joe Smith, Chad D. Smith, and Terry Julian.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Friday, June 8, 2018 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, with Sister Ruby Nell York officiating and assisted by Rev Donna and Martin Gustin, burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
