Obituary for Edverda Mae Hightower

Edverda Mae (Parker) Hightower, age 78 went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 10, 2019 in Oklahoma City. She was born in Cromwell, OK April 30, 1940 to the late Bert Parker and Virgie (Hill) Parker. She married Harvey Hightower Sr. February 12, 1955 in Cromwell, OK, He preceded her in death July 19, 1987.

Edverda worked for Big Yank as a supervisor for many years. She was a member of Miracle Living Word Church , Edmond, OK. Her hobbies were sewing, gardening, canning, cooking, and shopping. She enjoyed going to Church and spending time with her family.

Preceding Edverda in death are her parents, husband Harvey Hightower Sr., daughter Brenda King, two sisters Elizabeth Loving and Patricia Beavers.

Those left to cherish memories of Edverda are her six children Deborah Parker of Oklahoma City, Linda Shannon of Oklahoma City, Vicky Wilson and husband Darrell of Harrah, OK, Harvey Hightower Jr. and wife Vanette of Oklahoma City, Beverly Hightower of Cromwell, OK, and Venice Alexander and husband Terry of Wellston, OK: twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; two brothers Tommy Noble and wife Jolinda of Arcadia, OK, Willie Simpkins of Cromwell, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Janice Crittenden officiating and burial to follow at Westwood Cemetery, Wewoka, OK.
