Obituary for Jerry D McNally

Jerry Dan McNally was born April 25, 1934, raised in Wewoka, Oklahoma. Graduate of Wewoka High School in 1952 after high school, he attended OU for 2 years, then joined the Army as a paratrooper. After finishing his enlistment, he enrolled at OSU when he graduated with an industrial engineering degree in 1962. He then started working in the railroad industry until he retired as vice president of sales in 1989. After his retirement, he and his wife Dot moved to wewoka, where they opened their convenience store D.J.'s One Stop, in 1991. After closing the store in 1999, He went to work for the Seminole County Assessor's office. He retired from there after 17 years in 2017. He was the president of the Seminole Nation Museum for 2 years. He also served on the library board. He loved Wewoka, and stayed very close to his classmates. He was very involved and enjoyed every alumni weekend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel James McNally and Maxine Porter McNally.

He is survived by Dorthy (Dot) McNally of the home and 5 children, daughter, Paula and husband Ron Whisenhunt of OKC, Son Mark McNally of OKC, son, Shawn McNally of OKC, daughter Leigh and husband Michael Park of OKC Susan and husband Gary Hope of Wewoka he is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends. There will be a private Memorial Service held at the Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, make donations to, Wewoka Public Library, or St. Jude's.
