Obituary for John Dennis Petty

John Dennis Petty passed away Wednesday October 3rd, 2019 at Holdenville, Oklahoma in his home at the age of 66.

John was born October 1st, 1953 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Louis and Melissa Belle Petty. He graduated from Carl Albert public school in 1972. John had worked as a computer installer, truck driver, Oklahoma City school system, rough-in carpenter, mechanic and was a Jack-of-all-Trades. John was Cold War Army Veteran serving 2 years in Germany as a combat engineer and 1 year at Fort Polk, Louisiana. He was very proud of his service and would talk to anybody who would listen to his stories. John enjoyed hunting, photography, internet shopping, carpentry and animals.

John is preceded in death by his parents and one sister. He is survived by his sons; John Petty of Oklahoma City, OK, Ben Petty of Oklahoma City, OK, significant other Lana Pitts, his angel, of Holdenville, Oklahoma, Barbara Pitts of Holdenville, whom he considered as his daughter, 4 cousins, 1 nephew, and friends.

Honorary pallbearers are Matt Tallant, Trevor Suazo, Rickey Booker, Russell Shemwell and Declan O'Kelley, Bob Melton, Wayne Metcalf and Duane Rein Jr.

Graveside service will be 1:00 PM Monday October 7, 2019 at the Tecumseh Cemetery, Tecumseh, Oklahoma.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Holdenville, Oklahoma.
