Obituary for Chester Douglas

Wewoka resident Chester Douglas passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 in the Veteran Center in Norman, OK at the age of 70 years. He was born in Wewoka, OK on October 16, 1947 to the late Obegin Douglas and Elizabeth (Lena) Douglas.

Chester was saved, and baptized May 26, 2010 at Middle Creek #2. He was a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma Tribe and the Tallahassee Band. He married Jeanetta Coon and she preceded him in death on May 5, 2005. He served our Country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era, and was stationed in Germany for two years.

Preceding Chester in death are his parents, wife, and one sister Tressa June Douglas.

Survivors include sisters Mary Willard of Duncan, OK, Ruth Freeman of Holdenville, Ok, Margaret Schepens of Bainbridge, Ohio, Wilma Hyde of Edmond, OK, LaVerne Douglas of Shawnee, OK. and Marilyn Douglas of OKC, OK and brothers Ray Douglas of Tulsa, OK, Curtis Douglas, of Wewoka, OK, Carl Douglas of Phoenix, AZ , Dion Douglas of Broken Arrow, OK; aunt Corene White of Shawnee, OK, uncle B.T. Douglas of Seminole, OK, aunt Mary Jane Lena of Wewoka, OK, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, January 2, 2018 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Eddie Gooden, officiating and burial to follow at Lena-Fixico Cemetery, Wewoka, OK.

Pall Bearers will be Philip Douglas, Steven Hyde, Tristan Marshall, Derek Hyde, Curtis Douglas, Carl Douglas.
