Obituary for James Lowell Buchanan

James Lowell Buchanan passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 in Houston, Texas.
James was born March 11th, 1934 in Shawnee, OK to Edgar Poe Buchanan and Ethel Loucille Haynes Buchanan.

James graduated Shawnee high school and joined the United States Navy.
James married Jane Ann Cox and they settled in Wichita, KS where they opened James Buchanan Associates. Upon retirement James and Jane moved to Houston, Texas where they became very involved at Second Baptist Church where they developed many wonderful friends.

James enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and his grandchildren.

James is preceded in death by his parents; Edgar and Ethel Buchanan, his wife; Jane Buchanan, sister; Betty Griffin and his brother; Ed Buchanan.

He is survived by his Daughters; Sydney Dickie and husband Roy of Tampa, FL. and Shana Wood and husband Jeff of Houston, Texas, grandchildren Jordan, Chase and Samuel Dickie, Jeffrey Wood, Elizabeth and husband Jason Edgeworth, and Connor and wife Madeline Wood and one great grandchild William Edgeworth, sisters; Jan Blomquist of Arizona and Linda Kinnamon of Conroe, TX. and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday February 7, 2018 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
