Obituary for Mildred Vinita Green

Mildred Venita Green passed away July 6, 2018 at the age of 98 years in Ada, OK. Mildred was born April 26, 1920 in Coal County to her parents John and Maggie (Swaffar) Bench.

Mildred was raised in Coal County and later moved to Ada at the age of 25. She and Bates Green married in Stonewall, OK, July of 1942. Mildred was a longtime and dedicated member of Calvary Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed quilting, fishing and playing dominoes. Mildred also was a member of a singing group playing the tambourine. Her greatest love was her grandchildren.

Although she is no longer with us, her memory and legacy will be kept alive through the family and friends she leaves behind which include her 2 sons; Auston and wife Evelene Rodgers of Eufaula, OK and James Green of McAlester, OK, 2 daughters; Betty and husband Tom Kinnamon of Shawnee, OK and Marquita and husband Shelby Pearcy of Cottondale, Alabama, daughter –in-law; Alice Green, 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren along with many longtime friends, neighbors and church family.

Preceded Mildred in death includes her husband, 1 son; Eugene Green, daughter-in-law; Heidrun Green, 2 grandsons; Keith Hunt and Tony Rodgers, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Smith-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Don Jonker officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
